Right on Montgomery Highway, Big Bad Breakfast Vestavia Hills brings Your Southern Scratch Diner to one of Birmingham’s favorite communities. We’re open seven days a week for breakfast, brunch and lunch, pairing genuine Southern hospitality with a menu created by James Beard Award-winning and Michelin-recommended Chef John Currence.

We crack real eggs and make biscuits, jams, gravies, salad dressings, hollandaise, sauces, house-made Bloody Mary mix and JC’s Hot Sauce from scratch. Our chicken gets the same attention and is hand-battered in-house. Local honey, locally sourced McEwen & Sons grits, and fresh produce whenever possible bring Alabama flavor into the mix. Lighter mornings are welcome too, with avocado toast, steel-cut oatmeal, house-made granola and yogurt, egg-white omelets, wraps and salads. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available; let us know what you need and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Lunch includes burgers, sandwiches and our fried chicken sandwich. Grab fresh-squeezed orange juice made daily or get moving with a latte, cappuccino or espresso shot. Our pet-friendly outdoor patio invites you to stay awhile. Full-service breakfast and lunch catering is available for school functions, teacher appreciation meals, athletic teams, college groups, PTO meetings, showers, wedding mornings, corporate events and meetings.
