Big Bad Breakfast Durham brings Your Southern Scratch Diner to the Bull City, serving breakfast, brunch and lunch seven days a week. Durham has plenty of personality, and our menu does too. Created by James Beard Award-winning and Michelin-recommended Chef John Currence, it brings a distinctly Southern point of view to breakfast, brunch and lunch.
Our kitchen cracks real eggs, hand-batters our chicken and makes biscuits, gravies, jams, salad dressings, hollandaise, sauces, Bloody Mary mix and JC’s Hot Sauce from scratch. We work local honey, locally sourced Carolina Grits Co. grits, and fresh produce into the menu whenever possible. Lighter fare includes avocado toast, steel-cut oatmeal, house-made granola and yogurt, egg-white omelets, wraps and salads. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available; let us know your dietary needs and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
Lunch is worth sticking around for, with burgers, sandwiches and our fried chicken sandwich. Fresh-squeezed orange juice is made daily, while lattes, cappuccinos and espresso shots provide a Bull City wake-up call. Our pet-friendly outdoor patio welcomes guests and their pups. Full-service breakfast and lunch catering is available for schools, teacher appreciation, athletic teams, colleges, PTO meetings, showers, wedding mornings, corporate events and meetings.
