Court Street Mornings, Big Bad Style

Located on the ground floor of The Stricklin Hotel on Court Street, Big Bad Breakfast Florence brings Your Southern Scratch Diner to the heart of historic downtown. Open seven days a week for breakfast, brunch and lunch, we serve hotel guests, Shoals locals and downtown visitors with genuine Southern hospitality and a menu created by James Beard Award-winning and Michelin-recommended Chef John Currence.

Real eggs are cracked fresh, while biscuits, gravies, jams, salad dressings, hollandaise, sauces, Bloody Mary mix and JC’s Hot Sauce are made from scratch. We hand-batter our chicken in-house and use local honey, locally sourced Grit Girl Grits, and fresh produce whenever possible. Lighter choices include avocado toast, steel-cut oatmeal, house-made granola and yogurt, egg-white omelets, wraps and salads. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available; let us know your dietary needs and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

Lunch holds its own with burgers, sandwiches and our fried chicken sandwich. Fresh-squeezed orange juice is made daily, and lattes, cappuccinos and espresso shots are ready to start your Court Street morning. Full-service breakfast and lunch catering is available for teacher appreciation meals, athletic teams, colleges, PTO meetings, showers, wedding mornings, corporate events and meetings throughout the Shoals.
