Big Bad Breakfast Middletown serves Louisville’s east side as Your Southern Scratch Diner, open seven days a week for breakfast, brunch and lunch. We pair genuine Southern hospitality with a menu created by James Beard Award-winning and Michelin-recommended Chef John Currence and food that puts scratch-made preparation front and center.

Our team cracks real eggs, hand-batters our chicken and makes biscuits, gravies, jams, salad dressings, hollandaise, sauces, Bloody Mary mix and JC’s Hot Sauce from scratch. Cinnamon rolls are on the menu here too. We use local honey, locally sourced Weisenberger Mill grits, and fresh produce whenever possible. Lighter choices include avocado toast, steel-cut oatmeal, house-made granola and yogurt, egg-white omelets, wraps and salads. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available; let us know your dietary needs and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

Lunch serves burgers, sandwiches and our fried chicken sandwich. Fresh-squeezed orange juice is made daily, and lattes, cappuccinos and espresso shots get East Louisville moving. Bring your four-legged brunch buddy to our pet-friendly patio and ask about our Happy Hour and daily specials. Full-service breakfast and lunch catering is available for schools, teacher appreciation, athletic teams, colleges, PTO meetings, showers, wedding mornings and corporate events.
