T-Town’s Southern Scratch Diner
In downtown Tuscaloosa, just minutes from the University of Alabama campus, Big Bad Breakfast is Your Southern Scratch Diner for regular mornings and especially big game-day ones. Open seven days a week for breakfast, brunch and lunch, BBB serves a menu created by James Beard Award-winning and Michelin-recommended Chef John Currence, all with genuine Southern hospitality.
We crack real eggs and make biscuits, gravies, jams, salad dressings, hollandaise, sauces, Bloody Mary mix and JC’s Hot Sauce from scratch, while our chicken is hand-battered in-house. Local honey, locally sourced McEwen & Sons grits, and fresh produce whenever possible add a taste of home. Lighter choices include avocado toast, steel-cut oatmeal, house-made granola and yogurt, egg-white omelets, wraps and salads. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available; let us know your dietary needs and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
Lunch brings burgers, sandwiches and our fried chicken sandwich. Fresh-squeezed orange juice is made daily, and lattes, cappuccinos and espresso shots are standing by for early kickoffs. Our pet-friendly outdoor patio is perfect for soaking up downtown. Full-service breakfast and lunch catering makes feeding athletic teams, college groups, teacher appreciation events, PTO meetings, corporate meetings, showers and wedding mornings easy.
