Breakfast With a Little History

Located inside the Lodge Museum, Big Bad Breakfast South Pittsburg serves up a little history alongside the Your Southern Scratch Diner experience. Open seven days a week for breakfast, brunch and lunch, we bring a menu created by James Beard Award-winning and Michelin-recommended Chef John Currence to locals, museum visitors and travelers through the Tennessee River Valley.

Our kitchen cracks real eggs and makes biscuits, gravies, jams, salad dressings, hollandaise, sauces, Bloody Mary mix and JC’s Hot Sauce from scratch, while our chicken is hand-battered in-house. We use local honey, locally sourced Weisenberger Mill grits, and fresh produce whenever possible. Hearty favorites share the menu with avocado toast, steel-cut oatmeal, house-made granola and yogurt, egg-white omelets, wraps and salads. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available; tell us your dietary needs and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

Lunch offers burgers, sandwiches and our fried chicken sandwich. Start with fresh-squeezed orange juice made daily or wake up with a latte, cappuccino or espresso shot. Enjoy our pet-friendly outdoor patio. Full-service breakfast and lunch catering is available for schools, teachers, athletic teams, colleges, PTO meetings, showers, wedding mornings, corporate events and more.
