Tucked into one of Birmingham’s most beloved neighborhoods, Big Bad Breakfast Cahaba Heights is Your Southern Scratch Diner for breakfast, brunch and lunch seven days a week. At the heart of BBB is a Southern menu created by James Beard Award-winning and Michelin-recommended Chef John Currence, paired with genuine hospitality and a neighborhood feel.

We crack real eggs and make our biscuits, gravies, jams, salad dressings, hollandaise, sauces, Bloody Mary mix and JC’s Hot Sauce from scratch, and our chicken is hand-battered in-house. Local honey, locally sourced McEwen & Sons grits, and fresh produce whenever possible bring local flavor to the table. Looking for lighter fare? Try avocado toast, steel-cut oatmeal, house-made granola and yogurt, an egg-white omelet, wrap or salad. Gluten-free and vegetarian choices are also available; just tell us your dietary needs and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

Lunch keeps things going with burgers, sandwiches and our fried chicken sandwich. Start the morning with fresh-squeezed orange juice made daily or wake up with a latte, cappuccino or espresso shot. Our pet-friendly outdoor patio is made for lingering. Full-service breakfast and lunch catering is available for teacher appreciation meals, schools, athletic teams, colleges, PTO meetings, showers, wedding mornings, corporate events and more.
